Hello everyone,
I have a six year old Onan-Cumming 7MDKBL
generator with 880hours on the clock, on my
boat.
We
live aboard and use the gennie nearly every day to both charge
batteries and run some of the heavier loads on board.
A week ago it suddenly stopped with the amber light flashing twice every few seconds.
The manual says "Low
oil pressure" so I replaced the
oil and filter, but it was no fix.
The filter was original, the oil Rotella-T 15W-40.
When cold, it starts ok, runs for about 15~20 min and it stops, no splatter or coughing, stops as if I pushed the stop button.
It would start agai, but only run for a couple of minutes.
I guess the oil
sensor or
wiring is causing this problem when the
engine is hot, but cannot find the fault.
Can any of you help?
many thanks for reading so far.
