Does anyone have any insight on the difference between these two units and their service/support/dealers ?
I am replacing an old unit, and these two units seem extremely similar, though the Phasor is listed as weighing 25 lbs more (185 dry vs 160 dry). There are reports of the NextGen suffering from dirty power output which makes it difficult for some inverters.
I have a Phasor LP1-3.5 built in 2011. It has been flawless. Never, knock on wood, an issue. I did ask Phasor for a parts list and manual a couple of years back, they were courteous and responded right a way. I do run her for about half an hour under load every 2 weeks and keep up maintenance.
Both models are very similar. The old next gen generators used a Markon AC producing style head that produced dirty power until a load was put on the generator. My 3.5 with this head would show 58hz until the generator had over 5amps of load, than it would go to 60hz.
The newer next gen units utilize a Linz AC producing head that eliminates the dirty power issue.
