Re: New Victron Bluetooth Firmware

Another vote for changing the pin code. So easy for someone to accidentally destroy your battery bank, particularly if you are using some of the more modern battery chemistries.

I won’t go into the possibility of deliberate sabotage.

Re: New Victron Bluetooth Firmware

Not sure if it happened to anyone else, but I found that other devices running the Victron Connect app needed to connect to each of the controllers and sensors at least once to start displaying the extra Bluetooth broadcast data. It's like the app has to be told the data is available now.

Re: New Victron Bluetooth Firmware

They have recently added an open Bluetooth GATT data advertisement to the smartshunt , I wonder is this it now added to other devices.

Seems that they have added it to some but not all. At least my mains charger does not appear to implement a GATT server, while the shunt, battery sense and solar regulators do.

Same. Had to connect to each device once for the Home Screen to display the data.

It even displays if another device is connected to it, just gray in color but still shows live data.

Overall I’m happy with this new feature.

Re: New Victron Bluetooth Firmware

Have 3 controllers

75/10
75/15
75/15

all updating firmware automatically

one controller shows either OFF or have another Bluetooth device connected (I do not)

Checking the contacts on the controllers with a meter shows

Batt port:current 13.20 volts (correct)
PV port varies depending on sun strength between 14 and more
Load same as batt port

the screen on my phone the controller shows the voltage and charging status (blue and green lights) correct

but Status OFF

checking the Victron site this behavior is reported with some remedial action recommended like disconnecting and reconnecting terminals.

I did disconnect and reconnected wires.

Disconnected Bluetooth in my phone

Rebooted my phone (iPhone)

No changes

On Victron site some people report success, others the problem persists or reappears a few days later.

There are some mentions from tech reps "looking into"

I am posting on this thread as suspect is related to firmware??? and your thoughts.

This problem started recently, up until now all controllers will show status fine.

Also, my second question, even if the status shows OFF could be interpreted the batteries are being charged?

Appreciate your help

Have 4 x 100 watts panels,2 flexible on top of bimini connected to a single
75/15 controller
and 2 rigid panels, each one with its own controller.

@davil #22: It is unclear in two readings of your post what problem you are trying to research.
