New Genset required. Any manufacturer recommendations?

My old genset is ready for the knackers yard.
Live on board, 46' FP Bahia. No propane. Electric cooktop, oven/microwave. 200 ltr watermaker. WM/dryer. Old one is Kohler 8EFOZ - 8 Kw. 7300 hrs.
Currently considering Norther lights, Cummins Onan, Westerbeke. Open to other suggestions. My experience with genets is limited to our Kohler - and it is a love hate relationship. Mostly because it mixes metric spanners on the Yanmar base with imperial for the add ons.
We are currently located Marmaris, Turkey. Will be crossing the pond end of next year, so could plop one in at St. Maarten of any of the Virgins.
I know the old girl will get us across the pond, but am starting research early.
I am particularly interested in good and bad feedback about manufacturers - or even better - glowing reports.
Any help would be greatly appreciated.
cheers, Russell

7300 hours on a Kohler with out major repairs sounds like a good recommendation to me.
