MPPT 250 Solar Controller - BZ Products

Anyone out there familiar with the BZ PRODUCTS, INC. MODEL MPPT 250 solar controller?? Comments good/bad/experiences with this controller appreciated. I'm adding another solar panel for total of about 220 Watts total, and plan to upgrade from my MorningStar ProStar 15 (non MPPT) to an MPPT controller.

thanks,

Tom in Kinsale, VA

I have had their 500 model running for several months. 48 volts in from the 370 solar panels, and 12 out to the battery bank, without a problem. It doesn't appear weatherproofed, but I have it in a dry location, and sprayed it with an electronic corrosion protector. It also gets warm when putting out 25 amps, so it should have some ventilation.

An added benefit I forgot to mention is the included battery temperature sensor, although the wire is rather short. You can also set the float voltage for your battery type.
