I'm making good progress on changing a bad stator (and doing the coil since I'm in there)...
I've hit a bit of a snag.
I know it's probably a long shot here... but... I have two questions.
1. how I can't get the stator to come out. I was told that the intercooler (normally is in the area above the stator in the picture (See attachment, file: stator, picture #1)) could be left in place... however, I don't see how that's possible.
2. how do I stop the coil from spinning to loosen the bolt (If I turn the bolt, the coil just spins). (See attachment, file: nut, picture #1). I was told that the
compression in the
motor should prevent it from moving, however - the coil spins very well. The "decompressor" arm is UP, (normally you flip it down to make it so you can test that the coil isn't going to hit the stator, etc.)... but it's up so there should be a lot of resistance. Which I'm not getting. Thoughts?
Many Thanks,
Pete
