There is no better battery for the price. The form factor is very convenient. Very easy to handle! I have a 48v bank of them in my electric boat, and they are tough as nails. 7 years in, I am pretty sure I will get another year out of them. The only catch is you do have to maintain them properly.

Well, that's even more true for all the other types much fussier about charge parameters, really less robust all 'round.

Keeping water topped up is simple and easy in comparison, if the placement allows.

Well, they aren't very fussy about charge algorithms, no, as long as you give them a proper equalizing every once in a while and they get shook up a little now and then.
