The sign shop that cut it had the black acrylic in stock and I thought it looked good!

The bow battery came with the boat. My reason for wanting to eliminate it eventually is that battery has a large amount of tied up cost and amp hours that get used very intermittently. For about the same money as a replacement bow battery I could add another 200+ AH to the house bank which can be used all the time and keep the over all state of charge higher. The downside is obviously the large conductors to the bow but that is a one time expense and shouldn't require any real maintenance or upkeep.
