How to connect my propeller shaft alternator the right way.

Dear Community now I have a question to you and hope, someone could help me.
*
I want to bring my not working shaft alternator to life, and I don't understand the wiring of the system.*
*
As first I brought the alternator to the repairing office, and the technician replaced the diodes, because they were burned.**He testet it with +, - and Ignition terminal and it is OK.
Now I have to connect it to my existing boat wiring.
On the side of the Alternator I have 5 wires. Plus and minus terminals, brown , red-violet and red (which is thicker).
On the control panel I have a key switch, ignition lamp and charging signaling lamp.
+,- it is clear where to connect. The other there wires I tried to figure out, how to connect them to make it work with my boat.

the previous owner told me, that when turning the key on, the ignition lamp starts burning. And that it stops burning at the moment, the alternator is beginning to charge and that the second lamp starts burning as prove that it is charging.

Now I have a wireingsheme of Amel, which is the brand of my Boat. I enclose it here. I made a Plan how to connect the wires to my alternator.

Has anybody experience how to connect it the right way, and if there are any issues that I was not thinking about, when making this plan?
Thank you very much for taking an Eye on that, and for any advice.

thank you very much, Marian

Hi Marian, I did what you just did, re-install a prop shaft alternator.
What I did, is the same as you did: check the alternator to ensure it was in working order, mine was.

Mine has 3 connections:
- B+, battery plus
- Earth, battery negative
- D, for ignition light, that goes off when alternator is charging

I have this light switched through the ignition, as then the alternator will charge when engine is running and in gear. I have also a separate switch to 'turn on' this alternator when I am sailing and prop is turning alternator.

Re: How to connect my propeller shaft alternator the right way.

I have got el. Schematic from Amel (boat Brand) of propeller alternator. But I would like to discuss with some knowledgeable person about the wiring. I am not self confidential to connect it.

Please check the schematics. It is drastically different from topical car alternator wiring.

But as first let me explain the history. I brought the alternator to the mechanic to replace the bearings. And after reconnecting it was not working. So I brought it to the alternator professional revireing office. They figured out that the diodes were burnt.. Now after getting schematics from Amel I now that my wiring was ok, but I would appreciate confirmation from a professional person.

For the reference I am attaching next:
1. Wiring schematics
2. back of the panel
3. Back of regulator
