Re: How many cables fit on a busbar?

Here’s a follow-up. We sanded the busbars with the Fein Multimaster and some 3M metal finishing pads, then tinned them. Worked awesome. Of-course I’m not going to polish the tin like Blue Sea Systems does.

I got an 8-stud version in ($115 ) for the negative busbar and these two 4-position ones are for +12V and +24V.

The liquid tin works great. I also ordered the FTZ heavy duty power lugs for 4/0 cable and 1/2” studs. The lithium cells have 14mm studs so I used a step drill to widen them, then the liquid tin to coat the bare copper and they now look like factory M14 terminals
These power lugs are monsters, I don’t think much more than two will fit on a stud!

Re: How many cables fit on a busbar?

So, here we are... problems because of the 8-stud version that you guys made me buy it’s too long

I went ahead and modified it, see attached pictures. The screws are hidden by plastic plugs. I removed those by drilling a small hole in them, then driving a self tapping screw in, which pulls the plug out when the screw bottoms out on the head of the screw underneath. They are 3/16” machine screws.
