How efficient are mars rover solar panels?

I would assume more efficient than the affordable panels we buy but the technology may trickle down at some point right?

I would not make that assumption. I would assume that the panels used by NASA are pretty much the same efficiency as the higher end panels available to all of us--though with considerable additional expense put into making them rugged enough to survive the flight to, and the environment on, Mars.

It would be interesting to know how intense the Sun is on Mars and how much power they're actually receiving.

Since I posted I found some info that the panels on the mars rover in 2004 were 27.5% efficient, I assume they have much better efficiency now.

Also, as I understand it, the amount of solar radiation reaching the surface of mars is about 1/2 that of the earth.
