Hot weather battery storage

We are storing our 38' sailboat on the hard for hurricane season in hot, sunny Florida. What is the best way to deal with our 4 group 31 agm batteries? Leave connected to the solar panels or not? We won't have easy access to the boat once it's stored and storage term will hopefully not be longer than about 4 months. Thanks in advance.

Re: Hot weather battery storage

Assuming there are no loads to draw the batteries down and the solar controller is temperature compensated, I'd just turn the absorption voltage down to match float or only slightly above (no need to put them through a full absorption cycle every day if they're staying full) and leave it hooked up. With lead acid, topped off batteries are happy batteries.
