Heart Freedom 25 Not Talking to Link 2000

My Heart Freedom 25 is no longer lighting the status lights on the Link 2000 (like AC in, Float, etc LEDs). The Link does turn the invert mode on and off. I have replaced the cable with a known good cable.

Anyone have any suggestions (preferably based on actual experience) or can anyone help me with finding a schematic for the Freedom 25?

I had the same problem and it was the power sense wire at the house battery (battery #1), which is also used for powering the display. In my case, it was some corrosion in an AG-type fuse holder resulting in a bad connection. Wiggling it worked for awhile until I replaced the fuse with a blade type.

Thanks for that clue. When you had that problem did your other LEDs light and other functions work? All other LEDs work except for the ones on the Status row.

I had a similar problem where the monitor sort of 'locked up' a few weeks ago. The display showed volts but wouldn't change to other readings when I pushed other buttons. It also wouldn't control the inverter(turn on/off). If you pull the in-line fuse in the power supply wire to the monitor and wait a couple of minutes and then replace it the monitor should fire up normally. It is sort of like rebooting it. Good luck.

Yup, have rebooted the unit.

Again, here are the symptoms:

LCD displays ok
Switches and their LEDs work okay (can turn inverter on/off for example)
LEDs on the Status line do not light.

Sorry, in my case all lights and displays in the panel were off. Sounds like yours is a different problem and not so simple...

Yea, that's a different problem. I have called Xantrex customer service before and they are very helpful. I think they are in Washington State somewhere. They will walk you through a fix if there is one. If I recall correctly there are only certain hours that customer service is available and I had to wait a bit on hold but it was worth it as they are very knowledgeable and helpful. I think one time I talked to someone in Idaho also.

We had a problem where the Link2000 was monitoring the battery fine but no longer communicating at all with the Freedom20. The Freedom20 could be induced to start charging on its own, but would shut off spontaneously after variable periods of time.

It was a $500 trip to Xantrex, unfortunately.
