Group 24 or 27 or ?
Hello all,
I've been trying to find info on choosing my starting battery. I need to replace the current one.

I have a Volvo Penta MD7A, which is 13.5 hp. Is a Group 24 battery sufficient ? Is there a rule of thumb for this ?

A Group 24 worked fine for my Yanmar 3GM30F. Should work just as well on the smaller Volvo.

If you want to get technical here is a web site that you can calculate the CCA for your particular engine.
