You sure?
Cause I have never heard of that, in fact most Diesel engines will run with no low pressure boost pump, just it’s not good long term for the HP pump to pull a a vacuum, it could cavitation that way and that causes wear, so they are fed low pressure fuel.

Who makes the fuel injection system? I think Bosch is real common.

Generator Throttle

Ok, try this manual, it appears that there is a max speed setting that may be set too low, it appears that there is a min and a max speed that is set by limit screws, and that plate that you move with the wing nut as a lock can only adjust within those limits.

It also explains those holes. And yes a spring is sometimes fitted, although I have no idea what small car use means.

In the fuel system part of the manual if I interpret it correctly, your correct, it seems to have a fuel shut off solenoid, which I think turns off fuel flow and kills the motor.

Re: Generator Throttle

Turns out that I can see or get to the speed adjustments on my generator other than the "simple" wingnut one unless I lift it up out of the bottom of the enclosure.

that was supposed to be "can't see or get to" and lifting it out of the enclosure base tips the generator forward where the hoses and wires come through the enclosure base and it drags across the wire harness where it pulls the wires off the plug in connector

Re: Generator Throttle

another good thread lost in beer...

I think A64 is on the right track..
generator run at a constant speed..
a flywheel that control the throttle
a spring that controls the throttle
or a computer..no likely..unless this is a new generator

older generator are mechanical controlled. cheap, easy and reliable

there are only 2 ways to control the speed of a diesel..
fuel and air...restrict either and it slows..if all is good..
most run free air or pressurized air(turbo/blower)..
this leaves fuel...
