Gaskets on Solar Panel Trays

I plan on using Aluminum T-Sections to make an attachment framework for my solar panels.
These Alloy Trays will then attach to the Bimini Supports.

My question relates to the long term salt water/weather effects on the powder coated Solar panel frame

1 Is it wise to use a rubber Gasket between the Solar Panel and the Alloy Tray, (as I show in sketch)

Or

2 Just use some stainless washers as spacers between them, so that fresh water can rinse off any buildup of salt deposits?

What would be the best long term solution?

Re: Gaskets on Solar Panel Trays

I wouldn't put stainless against aluminum, you get galvanic corrosion, if I were to go the washer route I'd use aluminum. One source of aluminum washers is the washers made to go over pop rivets and they are available at Lowe's or Home Depot etc.
If you want to go the rubber gasket route look at electrical splicing tape, it's a real thick rubber type of electrical tape.Amazon.com: 3M Rubber Splicing Tape: Home Improvement
Geez how about a third option since you have powder coated frames? Use teflon / nylon washers?

Re: Gaskets on Solar Panel Trays

I would isolate them electrically if possible. Teflon or butyl washers between the metals would be simple enough.
