Hi all,
I'm considering moving my US wired
boat to
Europe then upcoming year.
I'm fine with all the intricacies of
wiring sizes,
regulations etc etc. I plan to keep the
boat at 110V and will use isolating transformers to reduce the voltage from 230V to 110V.
My question is regarding the
charger /
inverter I have fitted. It's a Freedom
Marine 25, reasonably old now, but a good workhorse and don't want to replace it if I can help it.
Once on European soil, the boat will be energized at 110V, but 50Hz.
Some
inverter chargers are tolerant of 50 or 60Hz, some not. But the
documentation on the
Freedom 25 makes no mention only that you can (apparently) change the internal crystal to change the OUTPUT between 50 and 60Hz.
Does anyone know if you can feed it 110V 50Hz without anything bad happening?
