Re: Firefly battery bank restoration charge question

Onto battery 2!

I find everything with this process interesting..

Battery has been off the boat for almost a week after a full charge . not connected to anything.

6:15pm the battery registered 12.79v before doing anything
6:45pm it is still showing 12.79v!

30 minutes, not even a drop off of 100th of a volt? guessing this battery is good too. Still will go through the motions, will leave it discharging exactly like battery 1. Same location , same temp (about 67f or so) . got the time lapse camera on the volt meter, and the battery protect on, just in case.

last time I did this with my Rolls batteries in 2016, they were down at 10v after about 20 minutes !

will be back tomorrow afternoon to check on the progress.

Interesting. Doing the 20hr test makes all the difference. My single battery seems to behave similar to your first one voltage wise. Now im curious what a 20hr test shows. Thanks for sharing. Sounds like you have good batteries.

Yes thank goodness, will know tomorrow how we stand with the second battery.

Unsure the future of firefly batteries. When I am ready again, be curious if lithium will be ready for prime time. It seems to be getting there.

Re: Firefly battery bank restoration charge question

Battery 2 seems to be a bit more fit than battery 1.. after about 21 hours, it is down to 11.79 (battery 1 was at 11.44v@21 hours) using the same headlight.. which DID fail just about 21 hours! HAHA

So both seem to be pretty healthy, guestimating aboutt 100% original capacity! sweet deal!

Seems I got lucky and got 2 good FF batteries. Hope I can get a few more years out of them.

Will recharge this one and call it a day on the project!

Hope FF can get their act together. these (at least mine) seem to be a great value, and sure seem to take the abuse I have given it!
