External fuel tank for Honda 2000 generator

I searched in the forum for this but did not find a result. I have made a platform for the Honda at the top of the swim platform on our Beneteau 49 and run the gen in the early morning to top off the batteries in the winter so the solar panels will finish the charge during the day. I seem to spill a little each time I fill the small tank on the Honda and have noticed references to an external tank in the forum. What modifications are needed and what tank is used with the EU2000? Thanks for the info.

You need to either modify your cap or buy one, then any tank you want. I used my outboards tank.
Fill the Honda tank and connect any tank and as fuel is used from the Honda it will be pulled into the Honda. On my test the max lift was about three feet, works best if they are at the same level. It works because the Honda has a fuel pump, without a pump it would not work of course
