Exide ED70 105AH battery

Just had a pair of these installed as house batteries. The installer said I would never have to top these up. I'm mystified about this. There are no traditional filler caps but there is a maintenance cap.
Has anyone had experience with these batteries?

Re: Exide ED70 105AH battery

They are calcium lead acid flooded batteries designed for for starting or duel purpose. Almost all automotive start batteries today use this technology.

They dont need toping up during their lifetime as the chemistry prevents water loss. You can charge them safely up to 15V.

You will be doing well to get more than 4 years of life out of them in a cycling application.
