The Remote Battery Voltage Sense (RBVS) attaches to the little green terminal block at the right of your photo, in front of the black cable (as shown on the diagram on the front in your photo).

What do you mean by 'load sensor'?

generator control relay is to, gasp, control a generator. e.g. turn it on when battery voltage drops below a threshold

load control relay similarly turns on/off a load based on battery voltage

remote battery voltage sensor unnecessary for most installations. it is an accessory.

I have this controller w/o any of the above connected.

I do use a remote batt temp sensor

Re: epever tracer 6415an

If you come even close to pushing 60A through the controller (or likely even 30A) then you will have voltage drop along the pwer cables from the controller to the batteries unless they are within a few feet of each other. Connecting the RBVS wiring to essentially the same place on the batteries as the power cables, or pretty darn close to the battery terminal posts, allows the unit to compensate for the voltage drop you will see in the power cables.

Will it work without it? Yes. Will it be better with RBVS? Maybe, depends on the installation, cable sizes, and distances.
