Engine Not Starting

Boat: Jeanneau Sun Odyssey 389
Engine: Yanmar 3YM30AE
Yesterday I turned engine battery switch on before disconnecting shore power.
When I attempted to start the engine I pressed the Power button on the instrument panel and everything lit up like usual and I could hear the engine compartment fan blowing. But as soon as I press the start button the instrument panel goes blank and the engine doesn’t crank.

Engine Battery voltage is 13.1 V

All house electrics okay.

Usual reason:
Corroded battery terminals. Same as what happens with a car.
Get a battery brush and clean them up.

shore power has nothing to do with it. you can start engine with shore power on. infact it will start better that way.

sounds like you have a bad connection that will allow enough power for the gauges but not cranking. you'll need a volt meter and a 2nd person to turn key as you trace votage between battery and start motor and key
