Hi KompetentKrew
Yes and no. We found the company that makes DuoGen to be very helpful and they advised us on
installation / positioning options. However, our
boat is currently not
lithium and we have decided that a better option for us will be to get a good
lithium conversion first. This will significantly cut down the
generator running time to take the
batteries to 100% so will improve our resilience
offshore, albeit we will not have an alternative
power source.
Once we have our lithium conversion in place, we will be in a better position to assess our solar /
water power generation options and needs. One option we have contemplated is to have
solar panels mounted on our Simpson
davits, and if we go down this track then the DuoGen is unlikely to be suitable for our situation.
Good luck with your deliberations!
