DOMETIC TankWatch4 issue

Hi,

Whether the probes on our Tank Watch 4 black water tank monitor are connected to the panel or not the yellow light (i.e. LOW level) remains on.

When the probes are connected, and as the tan fills or empties the other indicator lights come on as they should so that when the tank is empty I end up with both green and yellow (EMPTY+LOW) on and when the tank is full I end up with yellow and red (LOW+FULL) on.

Can anyone tell me why this is happening and how to fix it?

The Dometic manual for the Tank Watch 4 doesn’t have a trouble-shooting section so isn’t a lot of help.

Thanks and regards,

Bob

Re: DOMETIC TankWatch4 issue

A continuous light lets you know the power is on.
From the Owners Manual:
The TankWatch 4 utilizes three micro-float switches, which activate a four-light panel. One is fixed and activates a full light when the liquid is within approximately 2-inches of the top inside surface of the tank.
The other two float switches are mounted on adjustable stems and can be positioned to within 2-inches of the bottom of the tank. The stems are semi-flexible and are designed to flex with the sloshing of the tank contents.
A simple procedure (detailed on pages 4 & 5) allows one adjustable stem to sense when the tank is empty and the other adjustable stem to sense when the tank is 1/4 or 1/2 full, depending on the application.

Re: DOMETIC TankWatch4 issue

Did you disconnect the probe wires at the probe or at the display? If disconnected at the display, then I think you have a bad display. Otherwise maybe a wiring issue/short of some sort.

Gord May - yes, I read that but I have two lights on at the same time - yellow plus one other.
