Does it matter if its corrosion on groundingplate

I have a groundingplate for my windturbine with some corrosion on the surface. Is it a problem? Does it work as normal? It is difficult to remove due to the structure on the plate.

Probably work better as the rough surface will present a greater surface area. I'm sort of curious as to why your wind turbine has a grounding plate?

I'm not sure why it need a grounding plate, but I need that according to the manual. Both the plate and turbiner was on the boat when I bought it. I only know that the circuitboard can brake if it does not have it in strong wind.

Is it a ground plate installed underwater? Or are you possibly talking about a heat sink (that has a lot of structure) like the picture below?

It's not a heatsink. It's a cobber plate bellow the waterline connected to the windturbine with cables.

Let's accept that I need it and focus on my question. Does a groundingplate work if there are some corrosion on it?

If it has two cables running to it it is most likely a shunt resister which is switched into the charging circuit to keep a load on the generator to stop it spinning too fast when the generator is not needed to charge the battery.
