I have two
Honda EU2000 generators, purchased in 2012, that we used in our travel
trailer, then
motor home, and around the farm/house. We used the Berg System, extended run 6 gallon
fuel tank when needed. Just used one a few days ago for
lighting while I switched out our main
electrical panel in the house. Excellent generators!
Having said that, and not sure if they are available where you are, but if I were to
purchase a similar generator today, it would be the Harbor Freight Predator 2000.
I've used the Predator 2000's extensively over that past 6 years or so. They cost about 1/3rd the cost of the Honda, and have features the I feel make it superior to the Honda.
Consumer Reports in the last 2 years test several Inverter, quiet generators in that size range, and the Predator 2000 tested I think two points lower than the Honda, mainly because CR didn't like the harder mounting feet (and the hard wheels of the larger Predator generators).
For us, the key to long life for ANY of these generators, is regular
maintenance (oil/filter changes, air filters), and over our time of
ownership, if the generator is sit for more than a week or so, empty out the gas, and run the generator till it quits. In this respect I really like the Predators, because they have
fuel shut off valves, so you can run the gas out of the carburetor without having to dump out the
fuel in the tank, which for Honda, requires you to physically pick up the generator and turn upside down!
Another feature I like about the Predators is you don't make a horrendous mess when draining the old
oil out. There are after market
oil filler/drain "tube extensions" that
work okay, but the Honda is a poor design in that respect. YMMV
