connect outboard to battery

Hi there,
I'm about to connect my Outboard motor (Yamaha 8 hp 4 stroke) to my battery for charging. Should I connect the wires directly to the battery terminals or can I connect the + and - wires to bus bars? I have + and - bus bars connected to the battery. It would be more convenient to connect to the bus bars, even though they are close to the battery.

If you're doing it to make it easier to disconnect the motor, there's an easier way. I connected one once with an Anderson plug. That's a heavy duty push on connector they use for electric forklifts. Probably 10 times the amp capacity you need, and not expensive. But buss bars are a good idea too. You're only supposed to stack a max of 4 lugs on a battery post, with buss bars you can do as many as you need. A fuse would be optional but could be incorporated in the bar.

Thanks Captjgw, yes, I've got the disconnect sorted with a plug. thanks for the tip about just 4 connections to the battery poles. I think I may be near my limit there.
