Confused on Electrical Hookup

Hello,
I have a Silverton 41, 1995. It has one 50amp 125/240V and one 30amp hookup. I am needing a 220/240V outlet for a mini-split ac unit.
I've been reading that if I have 50amp, I already have 240 to the boat. But, what is needed to get that to an outlet? My breaker panel doesn't show 240V only 2 batteries and two for 120V. So, would I have to have an electrician come aboard and wire a 240V to an outlet and a breaker to handle it and that's it?

Thanks in advance. Still not sure why there is 30amp.

If you have a 120/240 inlet and panel. An electrician should be able to add a double pole 240v breaker to your panel. If you have space. And run a wire to the air con.

Post a pic of your panel.

Re: Confused on Electrical Hookup

There is a lot that is unknown. I would think it is odd to have both the 125/240 and the 120v 30 amp connected to a breaker panel. You either have the 125/240 or the 120v 30 amp connected to the breaker panel, not both. If both are connected, and if you have the 125/240 providing power, then the 30 amp connector will have voltage on it. Someone opens the cover and touches the exposed terminals, and they will be shocked.

You need to figure out which is really connected to the breaker panel. Ultimately, the solution could be as simple as you suggest, ie add a 220 volt outlet and circuit breakers. But it could be more complex.
