I've received my shipment of
electrical stuff from the states and am looking for a solid/clever person to help me install it….its not the physical part that’s the challenge it’s the thinking part.
This has been my biggest worry about the whole
refit.
I've read and read and to be honest feel a bit overwhelmed...I managed to figure out what I think I need and ordered accordingly…..that order was placed about 6 months ago and that was also the last time I spent any time thinking about it….I figure when I unpack It’ll jar my memory…”oh yeh…that’s what I was thinking”
We have a pitiful selection of stuff in Leb. its almost non-existent.
The same can be said for
marine electricians.
We generally go as a
family for about two months for our summer holiday. I spend between 4 and 5 days a week working on the
boat.
The stuff I’ll be installing is (among others) Balmer 200 amp alt w/reg, SidePower series/parallel contactors for the thruster, Victron Multiplus
inverter, Xantrex LinkPRO
battery monitor, DEI
Marine fail safe plus 30 amp
galvanic isolator, 900amp
battery bank…wire….wire….wire…
Note that all AC is 220V
single conductor….not 220v like it is in the states.
I’m sure I could sort it out myself with help from the forum but time and stress is an issue as is doubting if its right before I go out and kill my
family, or have my
boat burn up at the
dock.
I figure if there’s someone who can take two or three weeks off and is up for an all expense paid trip to Beirut, (and some nominal wages) that really knows there stuff about marine electrics, this could be a win-win situation.
I’m a nice guy that’s easy to
work with, and am looking for the same.
I hesitate to post this because I’m worried I’ll get some wingnut that’s just looking for a free trip.
But hey…lets see what happens.
I hope the moderators don’t move this to the classifieds because I thing the person I’m looking for is lurking around the
electric threads.
Thanks all.
