Chassis ground for 110V AC equipment?

Hello, My boat has a MarineAir Air Con and Torrid hot water heater. Both are 110V AC. The previous owner had put a ground wire from the chassis of each unit to the nearest bronze seacock. Is this ground wire necessary? Note: My bronze seacocks are not bonded together or to anything else. Thanks for your input.

Insure those appliances are bonded to the AC supply from the frames, and remove the bootleg ground to the TH. These must have a 3 wire ac cable.

To clarify: The safety ground (green) wire is required to be run back to the safety ground bus, usually at the main panel board.

Thank you for the responses. I have confirmed proper 3-wire AC wiring and I have removed the previous owners additional wire to the seacock.
