charge controller

Hi,
Can I use a 50 amp cc to regulate a 40 amp automotive battery charger?

Depends on cc. Some may need higher voltage input to work.

It is a blue sky CC.
We are trying to get our off grid house in MN more daughter friendly so we can relax on our boat this winter.
What about connecting the automotive charger to some kind of automotive regulator. that might work?
