Brand of wet cell deep cycle batteries to buy?

I am in the process of replacing my wet cell deep cycle Sam's Club batteries that I purchased in 2004. I had three 115 amp batteries linked to give me a house bank of 345 amp hours. They are not holding a charge as they did, and I'm getting ready to go cruising, so it's time to replace. They have lasted 8 years, which I think is not a bad bang for the buck, so I can't really complain. I went to Sam's Club recently to buy three more, but they no longer sell them that large, nor that will fit in my battery well. Can any of you recommend wet cell deep cycle batteries of that amperage that you have found to last. Thanks. George

What are the dimensions of your battery box? Is it designed for Group 27? Group 31? Will it hold tall 6-volt golf cart batts?

Sorry for the delay in responding. The battery box will not accomodate golf cart batteries. Too short. So I have to go with regular dimension wet cells.

Walmart's Group 29's are pretty good. Made by Johnson Controls (same as Sam's Club). They might be about 1/2" taller than regular group 31's but they have a few more amp hours.

Also, O'reillys auto parts uses DEKA batteries (good quality) for a good price.

I'd go with Interstate's as well, if you can find them in your area.

Connie and i ran 3 banks of Interstate batterys 2 house banks and one for electronics and sailing equipment. We got almost 8 yrs before we changed to go from Cali to Louisiana. Can't find a better price for the amount of batts we needed to buy !! sure better to be able to change em in different years, but we started out at the same time so were stuck with that scedual (spl) We priced a bunch of Batts here in Louisiana last year for price and ended getting Interstate for the defever we sold ! just our 2 cents
