hey all,
at some point, every through-hull,
deck fitting, stanchion and chainplate on my 1970
Islander 34 was bonded together. over the years that system has fallen into disrepair (and been repaired with sub-standard materials by well-meaning PO’s), and now I’d say less than half of the bonded items have decent
electrical connectivity between them.
what’s the modern thinking on bonding? googling around I see a lot of different opinions... sooner or later I’m going to have to redo most of the
wiring in the
electrical locker anyway, should I be planning on re-bonding everything or ripping all that old
wiring out?
