Battery Alarm settings and issues

Hello, thanks in advance for your response. I have a 2011 Beneteau Oceanis. My boat is currently docked at a marina and connected to shore power. My batteries are reading out at 12.4 and go up to about 12.7. But the alarm that is built into the panel is going off randomly. Is there a way to turn off the alarm completely while I am at the marina, or change the parameters so it only goes off if the batteries drop below 9V or so?

Thanks,
Mare Presto

Re: Battery Alarm settings and issues

I have a 2010 beneteau oceanis. Which battery is alarming? The starting battery has a lower threshold for alarms than the house battery. Could your AC charger have stopped working?

Re: Battery Alarm settings and issues

You battery should be at 13.5v or higher plugged into the dock. Normal charging is 14.4v and it will drop to 13.5 once full to maintain them.

The battery should never go below 12.0v. The alarm is probably around 11-12v who knows. Sounds like your battery charger is not working. Or you have wiring issues droping voltage to panel. Or the gauge itself. Fix the problem not the alarm.
