Batteries in Trinidad?

After some charging problems, we had our batteries checked. Two of four dead, two half dead.

Here in Grenada they are ~$750 each before duty. Does anyone have any idea if theya re cheaper in Trinidad? They are 12v gel batteries 225AH 8D batteries.

Might I suggest, use the internet to find dealers in Trinidad that carry the batteries you are interested in. Then surely, it can't cost more than a nickel a minute to call one up and ask them for a price, if they have no email address?

That way if they are cheaper, you can place an order and make sure they are waiting for you. Sometimes batteries are shipped by ocean freight from China and simply not on the shelf when you need them.

is in both Trinidad and Grenada and carries Trojan batteries - which has an 8d gel model. Dont know what the price difference would be between islands.

Also Marine Warehouse in Miami has an outlet in Trinidad. They get stuff at US prices and shipping by ocean freight is pretty cheap.

Results are:
Batteries in Trinidad ($998) are more expensive than Grenada.
Budget Marine ($878) are more expensive than Wholesale Yacht Parts ($770) with a 10 day wait for shipping.
Importing from States ~$700 delivered, but you have to arrange your own shipping, customs clearance etc
