Balmar ars-4 troubleshooting

My regulator voltage on field drops down to 1.2 V as soon as I switch on the ignition.

I was testing the alternator with running of an another simle regulator and it was charging.

I made new wiring with ground , battery, ignition and field wire.

First attahed picture is when I am mesuring field current of alternator.

As first I made the troubleshooting from manual.
With ignition on and without field conected voltages is 4.5v, as soon conect the field on ,ignition drops down to
1.2 V.

I made also another test with lamp . There curent is 1A.

When i switch regulator on it does the initialization. I might see it from leds.

Also I may do the battery type of programing. The procedure works fine.

The only thing that is diferent now is that I don't use Troyan deep cycle batteries but just normal car battery. Which option i have to chois from program? I am using Mac battery

Can you help me to find what is wrong with regulator? Is it maybe smething that i could try to see if tegulator needs some settings.

I was oway fir two years. And now returning to the boat again.

Re: Balmar ars-4 troubleshooting

I'm not clear from your description is this is a static test of the ARS or is the motor running.

Also what is the SOC of your new battery? Maybe it's fully charged and the regulator is sensing that and sending little current to the field circuit.

Re: Balmar ars-4 troubleshooting

It is acting equal when gets the ignition and while running.

I was puling batteries down with switching all possible on today to get to 12,5 V. After starting of engine no notable change on voltage.
