I installed a Aerogen 4 this year.

Its a well built unit. No support in the USA. However all parts come in from England and tech support is very good. It just got bought up and will
be represented within 1-2 years by a Large Marine house. Attached is a
picture of panel I built for it. It has a On/Off switch, Amp meter and fuse as well as regulator and Dump Resistor clcjr54@hotmail.com

Actually, I meant the Aerogen 4. I just bought a unit off e-bay. Unfortunately it does not come with a regulator or dump resister. I notice 2 black boxes in your picture. I think the small one is the regulator. What does the larger one do?...terminal connections?
Also, I need to but a set of blades for it. I take it that these only come out of England also...Martin

This unit doesn't put out a lot. Unless you are using it to keep your batteries up on a mooring (no fridge running) I would not spend the extra $150 bucks or so they'll want for 6 new blades.

The small black item is the regulator. The green item is the Dump Resistor.
The Larger Black box holds the Terminal block,Amp Meter,Fuse and electrical stop switch( which is a double throw). To do the job correctly
its quite a job. Also buying the correct Regulator it comes in 12 or 24 volt. I reccomend the TB series and the Dump resistor is included.
The tech people are very helpful at LVMSHOP .

I bought from the LVMSHOP in england. It cost $50 for shipping,plus VAT and then you are paying in British Pounds. I think the Dump resistor and Regulator was around $300 USD. However there was a place in Alaska that offered a great price on the items around $190. They were out of stock at the time and it seemed they were having some difficulty getting product. I wouldn't take any shotcuts in the installation of the unit. In the least you could fry your batteries. The worst is @#$%^&&. You know what I mean. Also be sure to have it up very high. The rotating blades have been known to seriously hurt or kill. I used a 8 foot by 2 inch diameter stainless pole with a support bar to reduce vibration. If you never had the chance to try to sleep with a constant vibration you will now. clcjr54@hotmail.com

Vasco...You may be thinking of the Aerogen2, not the 4. The Areogen 4 puts out 6amps @20mph, 15amps @ 40mph, up to 19 amps. I know not as powerful as others "claim" but certainly adequate to add to the vessels power producing capabilities.
Thanks Chuck...Since the unit new is $1400 and I got it for $300, I think I can spend a little more to bring it up to snuff. I will try your Alaska link. I can't imagine the vibration any worst than having to listen to the constant drone of everyones generators! I will mount it 1/2 way up the mizzen. I have ratlines I can use to turn it out of the wind (with the stop switch on of course) If it gets to be too much.

I am looking at a Flexcharge NC25 to act as a regulator for the Aerogen 4 and my 3, 50 watt solar panels. The NC25 has accomodations for a divert leg for a high load resister or heating element in a wayer heater. Anyone try this combo???

I tried to go with a different brand regulator that used a higher tech Dump Resistor and could not get a positive OK from Aerogen. Email their tech service prior they are very helpful.........

Well...as the gods would dictate, I bought the Aerogen off of e-bay. It was shipped during the busy Xmas season and you guessed it...damaged beyond repair. The seller was kind enough to give my money back. Now I will buy a AirX with a built in regulator and use the NC25a for my solar panels...Aloha all
