We do have batteries in Europe

Shield Batteries | Odyssey 31/PC2150 (100AH 12 Volt)

What is interesting is the overall weight is 35kgs, that's heavy for a 100AH battery and suggests lots of lead in a standard type 31 sized case. Its a gamble but one I would take but you are not going to know for a decade if it was worth it.

Pete, l dont feel quite sure that Great Britain is a part of Europe

More likely, either GB departs from Europe, or.... Europe adds to GB to form a larger continent
A Greater Europe indeed

(Sir W.Raleigh's pov, l suppose)

NEVER AGAIN I'd consider buying AGM!, other than in present circumstances.

They proved sub standard.

I check charging routinely on a daily basis. Even so, they proved not up to cruising needs (FAAC, VETUS, EXIDE)

Did I understand correctly, that the deal didn't work for you? Sorry to hear that Thunderbird.

I thought that "M" stands for a metal jacket. That way (with the jacket) it allows higher operating temperatures. This metal box can be removed if needed. I believe "S" and "T" are the letters used to show the kind of terminals fitted. See here: Marine Battery Specifications – ODYSSEY battery
