I have a similar situation on my boat at the moment. Two engine bank batteries and two house batteries. Thinking of putting one of the engine batts on the house bank. The engine is a 27hp, 3 cylinder Yanmar. The engine batts are 70ah car batteries and I haven't had a problem starting the engine with only one, in the past. One should be enough for this engine, no?

If I get you right, the solar panel is essentially a trickle charger. What powers the "Jumpit"? I assume its AC, no?

The Jumpit contains a 19Ah SLA battery which supplies the energy for starting etc.

The solar panel keeps the battery in the Jumpit topped up for when you need it.
