Alternator connection to Link 2k shunt

I am installing a BM 50 which has a 120 amp alternator. My previous engine had a Leece Neville 105 amp. I ran the neutral wire to the Link 2000 shunt and then to the engine block. This way the L2k could keep track of the amps being produced from the alternator.
The new amp only has a positive post and 2x 1mm wires. (W and 0+). How do I wire this so that my Link tracks amps from the alternator?
Both alternators are internally regulated.
Thanks

if the shunt is wired in the correct spot with 1 cable going to each battery. there is no need to put the alt to the shunt. the shunt still measures everything in and out of the batteries.

Your engine negative must go through the shunt to the battery.

Both the house and engine battery neg goes to the shunt.
Then the shunt neg goes to the engine.
Was concerned that the alternator neg bypassed the shunt.
Many thanks

Is there any reason to measure the start battery? I use my monitor to track my house bank, thinking the start battery will recharge easily and doesn't need that much monitoring.

I measure the start battery because I can.
We fire up the engine today for the first time.
Will let you all know how it goes.
