Air X vibration?

My new Air X, just put it on 2 weeks ago, seems to vibrate while spinning above 10 amps output range and the higher the wind gusts, say 25 knots upward really vibrates! I wonder just how balanced the hub and blade assembly is? Anyone else notice this, or is it just my Air X doing this???

Eagle,

It should not be vibrating like that. The blades could not be balanced properly. Try fairing and balancing the blades. I'm not very familiar with Air-X's (other than hearing all the horror stories about noise) but it is interesting that there is quite an aftermarket for Air-X blades which should tell you something.

Our Air 403 only vibrates if the mounts are loose. Check all of your mounting bolts. Ours actually smoothes out as the wind picks up. Make sure the blades and hub are properly attached. Noise, what noise That's the audio windspeed indicator, if it starts howling, it's time to reef or check the anchor set.

I've experienced no undue vibration with my new Air-X, nor noise. Be sure it is mounted so that the support poles are aligned with the main pole and all the mountings are tight. Also that the blades aren't over or under torqued, as well as the hub is tight. On my installation, I mounted the main pole directly to the deck, rather than with the bracket (one hole instead of four). I get more vibration and noise from my bimini strap (cured with tape) than from my Air-X.

Regards,
