Re: A way To Save Charging Time

You say the SG has settled after a month but in your other thread you did not have it connected on the load side. I am curious how long it took to settle after connecting it to the load side of the batteries.

EDIT. I was referencing the wrong thread by someone else. Oops!

Yeah, mine's always been connected directly to the battery terminals as instructed to do so by the installation directions.

Re: A way To Save Charging Time

Today I ran the generator for the first time after seven days at anchor, only for a half hour this morning in order to warm up the hot water tank.

Today's snapshot at 6:00pm. Awesome!

Careful here, I know it's still early days, but you need to run your generator under load (not just water heater) and long enough to really get the coolant/oil/windings hot. This will prevent damage from moisture accumulation. Once a week is fine, just bake some bread or something to really put a load on the thing.
