Re: 6V AGM Battery - West Marine vs. O'Reilly

A few years ago, we discovered that AGM batteries fail if they are not fully charged frequently. Has this been resolved?

Re: 6V AGM Battery - West Marine vs. O'Reilly

That is true for all lead chemistries, where "damaged" means losing lifespan.

AGMs are more susceptible than FLA, Gel less so.

Firefly Oasis are unique in withstanding PSOC abuse, have a periodic routine to restore capacity.

LFP has no issue at all, in fact prefers to sit depleted.

Re: 6V AGM Battery - West Marine vs. O'Reilly

I am not selling anything. I use Duracell EGC2 battery bank and I am well satisfied after two years. Duracell is a house brand of East Penn. The same as Deka. East Penn makes other labels on contract, and they could change. Such as West Marine, Diehard, and Napa.

Re: 6V AGM Battery - West Marine vs. O'Reilly

Bought a used truck once with 5 year guaranteed battery by an auto parts store like O'Reilly. Went through 2 that routinely died at 3 years and went with a good brand, Interstate. Still going 6 years later....

Lighten up. He asked about comparative brands between "marine" and auto parts house. Read the question.
