I have 2 240 AH 8D AGM batteries
as the house bank. They are charged as a single
unit, but individually selectable for use/discharge. One battery
has failed - a short in one of the cells was generating a lot of heat. So now the house bank is one healthy but aged 8D battery
. My research
is indicating that you shouldn't replace just one battery in a parallel bank... a huge cost hit if I have to replace both 8D batteries
. What's the down-side/impact of only replacing one? Thanks!
