12 from 24

Hello,

My mate has the 24v 200Ah Engine Bank and House Bank.

There is a 12v 200Ah battery that is only charged by solar panels that power the VHF radio and a few other pieces.

We could eliminate the 12v battery and grab the power from 1 of the 12v batteries of the house bank.

QUESTION: What would happen to the House Bank batteries if we connected to one of the batteries on the house bank (12v), to power a small 12v DC panel for the gear.

I want to use a 24v to 12v converter from the house bank, but my mate thinks differently !!!!

Both 24v banks are charged by one Victron Centaur.
