When will a new model replace the 450?

The 440 lasted about 6 years and the 450 is pretty close to six years old now. Does lagoon have a set pattern for updating their boats?

I love the styling on the new 42 but would like a few feet more.

Re: When will a new model replace the 450?

so far, apart from 33 sec video, there is no evidence that mast further back produces good overall performance and there is also no evidence that structural changes work down the track.

Remembering L42 electric motors project, .....

And is well known that L 450 is fast boat, and has no major issues.

I cross fingers new models deliver.

Re: When will a new model replace the 450?

Pure speculation on my part but...the 450S is a fairly recent addition with blacked out window surrounds and the the galley layout has been switched around all updating the look of the boat -you would not think Lagoon would release a new variation of the 450 if a new model was imminent .
Our local lagoon broker suggests 2020? Over 500 sold still with a 6 month wait list.
What he did say was the replacement would be good if it was a 47 footer to fill the gap between the L42 and L52 although the L 450 at 45 foot 10 is 2 inches short of 46 feet anyway .

Riv33 most salesmen will tell you their product won't be superseded anytime soon. The 440 was selling well too when Lagoon replaced it.

If I was a betting man, I would say the Lagoon 400s2 will be replaced before the 450.

Just my thoughts.

I think they will discontinue the 380 and 400 and eventually replace the 450 with a 47 ...

I don't see the necessity to have 1 boat every foot that is too many to do well, better to have fewer models and focus the engineering on those models.

Re: When will a new model replace the 450?

I was going to upgrade from our 440 to a 450 but the internal stairs to the flybridge killed it for us.
Having 2 big holes in the rear cockpit roof spoils the back lounge area, rain and waves coming in the back ruin what is our most popular spot.
Hopefully a new design returns to the 440 setup.

Lagoon has been on the verge of discontinuing the 380 for years. The problem is, the model just keeps selling - the most successful cruising catamaran in history.

Yes that would be the obvious logic but I'm sure Lagoon has their reasons. Some of those reason maybe pricing differences suit different buyers, existing models are proven so if there is demand why not and the molds for newer models may not be able to produce enough boat to keep up with demand.

Re: When will a new model replace the 450?

People with a L450 have very easy solutions to keep rain and spray out of the "best area", absolutely no reason do not have this great CAT. Even Lagoon provided one in there option list. The video on the net with the L450 in the rain is misleading information from people taken by surprise. No boat is perfect, but ideas from owners makes it a better one and usually these ideas are simple and cheap and provide in this case even more. Plenty of solutions, ideas or modifications available on the net to make your boat more pleasing.
