For those choosing a washing machine for a
boat, I could offer a small piece of
advice based on 7 years of living with one.
If you are using the
boat for any kind of
long term cruising or
living aboard, this is an absolutely key piece of
gear, which makes much of the difference between living and camping.
The closer to a full-sized and full-function one you can fit in, the better.
We have a Eudora/Eumenia washer/dryer which was common fit to large sailing yachts in the early 2000's around here. It's German and built like a brick house and has given excellent
service.
However -- it is quite small, especially for drying (capacities for washing and drying are different). This is a big drawback as it means many, many loads to get through a family-sized quantity of
laundry. Which means a lot of
generator use if you're off grid.
I have no idea whether it is realistic on a
Lagoon to fit something closer to full sized, but I would sure try, if I were you. My next boat will have a normal domestic combo washer/dryer, preferably Miele, and I will create space for it whatever it costs.
