I live full time on my L450 the only down side to the fly bridge is the lack of sun/wind protection offered by the standard
Bimini. Hopefully that will be fixed in the next month as I am having a solid top 4.5 x 2.5 meters constructed as I type (I hope).
The visibility from up there be it sailing,
anchoring, maneuvering in a marina or just kicking back at sunset with a Mojito at
anchor can not be beat in my opinion.
There are people that for whatever reason do not like the fly bridge set up (if we all liked the same thing there would only be one model available) so I guess that
Lagoon see the need for a 450 to fill that market, but my guess is it would be less than 25% of 450 sales, but that is still a significant market to address with what amounts to modification to an existing model, not a complete from the ground up new model.
I have not seen or been on the new 42 but I do own a L421 also that is in
charter, the difference between that and the L450 is way more than 3 feet of extra length would suggest. It is also wider and the hulls are taller so there is a very appreciable increase in internal volume available.
But at the end of the day Multi or Mono,
Lagoon or other brand the most important thing is cast that line off as soon as you can and get out there.
Remember every day you spend thinking about doing something is one less day you have to actually go out and do it.
