We flew ours for 18 straight days across the Atlantic, even with squalls of 35kts
Also you do not fly the main when using the Parasailor saving a lot of wear and tear on your expensive main, especially the beating it takes downwind with spreader chafe.
At 140awa and 20kts tws we end up with an aws of 10 and sog of 10kts
Just got mail from the makers of the Parasailor, they dont use NO like 4, 5,6,7 on them anymore, but mine on 105 m2 is the same as the old NO 5.

they will only use ...M2 , and not NO... in the future.
I like the parasailor.

Nicely done!

On your instruments, what is the spelling in your language for the windspeed and boat speed?

Also, could you comment and the ease or difficulty of launching and take down of the parasailor?

Re: Spinnaker for Lagoon 380?

Well windspeed is in the senter of the wind instrument and it is in Knots,
Boat speed is seen lower part of the first instrument and also in SOG on the Plotter.
To put the Parasailor up and take it down in low winds you can do it alone easy. stronger winds can be done alone also but will need a bit of training and a nice step by step way to do it.
But normally its me and wife and then it is very easy.

if you just plan on how to do it, and train on it adjust, then you can do many things
her is a film of a singelhanded sailor showing how he takes down his spinnaker while sailing alone. and this is a fast mono. Elan 350 and he is speaking norwegian

Re: Spinnaker for Lagoon 380?

That is a fast mono.

I've never seen a spin takedown pass between the boom and the main. Then again, nearly all sailboats I've been on have a fixed foot to the boom.

Definitely made it look easy.

Thanks for sharing.

This gets your blocks and sheet lines forward of all of the stuff on deck to limit the chance of tangling lines.

Hi Tim,
I would like to do the same. However, I wonder whether you had the same horizontal boards blocking the upper way into the bow crash compartment (see picture)? Not sure what their function is, but they're solidly laminated in on my L380 S2...

Did you manage pad eye installation by drilling just a circular hole for your arm? My biggest hole saw is 127mm/5" -- think that'll do?

Was the wall made of sandwich? Or pure laminate due to crash resistance?

Finally: I plan rigging heavy load snatch blocks on the bows and bowsprit in order to use just sheets, no guys (shifting the spinnaker will then require pulling the sock down first). Is this likely to work alright, or do sheets AND guys somehow all work together to trim a Spi on a catamaran?

Thanks a lot
Karsten
