440: Sliding Laptop Bracket For Chart Tableau....

Idea's for your Lagoon:-

Wanting to have a decent size chart table where a full size chart can be laid out i removed the gear/throttles aft to a seperate helm then i installed a sliding laptop holder at the desk that allows you to view the chart by sliding the laptop left to right.

The laptop is around 130mm off of the chart so you can actually see under as well.

I laid a piece of clear vinyl over the chart that lifts up at the front edge to change charts, the 'chart of the day sits under the chart for reference and can be slid out and DR can be pencilled in. I clipped 50 mm of the clear vinyl behind the back board.

Works well.

Some side shots showing the brackets, laptop is on velcro tabs so it can be removed.
The feet have felt pads to stop rattle or sliding in a head sea.....

Nice! I built one years ago that slides down from the bulkhead to the near edge of the table in front of you. Laser cut SS with ball bearing drawer slides. The lap top then slides away and folds up vertical to allow full chart table use. Unfortunately it was built for "yesteryears" laptops (small). I'll see if I can pull it out of the boat parts storage and get a pic.

Great idea. Looks all custom, which gives you that perfect fit.
Those pictures will help a lot of cruisers fabricate something similar to yours.

Because i'm in a foreign land i had to get it fabricated which really is frustrating i can assure you!!!! So i'm restricted to building bits in Australia and smuggling in our baggage and can't do that with everything, LOL.
The two brackets and SS rod cost around 460 Kuna, about $60:00 neat.
